Hen with her chicks double brooch
A hen leading her four little chicks out as a double brooch.
I created the hen by crocheting coloured copper wire. She has gold plated beads on her wing and tail, red coral stones on her head and a black agate stone eye. The chicks were also made by crocheting coloured copper wire, they each have a black agate stone eye and tiny sun stones for feet. The hen has an ordinary brooch pin on the back and the last chick in the row has a tie tac brooch pin. The brooches are connected together with sterling silver chain and the three middle chicks dangle from the chain.
The hen measures 4cm (1.6 in) tall and 3.5cm (1.4 in) long, the chicks are each about 1cm (0.4 in) tall and 1.5cm (0.6 in) long and the chain connecting the brooches is 9cm (3.5 in) long.
